All around us are patterns, shapes and colours that remind me of work by Mondrian and Rothko, hiding in plain sight on walls and roads. Skin is an ongoing abstract photography project in which I record those unintentional artworks. Everything here is – I think – accidentally beautiful: brickwork, doorways, drain covers and paint marks that exist solely to be functional, but that I find almost unbearably pleasing to look at.

At its heart, Skin is simply my way of hoarding unconsidered things that make me smile.

Maybe they’ll make you smile too.
